As educators, we know how important the process of learning is to our lifelong career goals. This core value of teaching and learning is the foundation of ACUE’s digital badging program.
ACUE Badges represent a series of milestones awarded to faculty as they progress through the Course in Effective Teaching Practices. Each Badge recognizes skill acquisition in key topics of instructional effectiveness.
These Badges are also highly visible indicators of professional achievement. On professional networks such as LinkedIn, faculty who display ACUE Badges distinguish themselves as possessing the skills needed to be effective college educators in the 21st Century.
Endorsed by the American Council on Education (ACE), the ACUE Course Badge is awarded to faculty who successfully complete the Course in Effective Teaching Practices. Faculty earn the Course Badge in conjunction with a Certificate in Effective College Instruction, also endorsed by ACE. To earn this Badge, faculty must demonstrate knowledge of effective instruction and put research-based techniques into practice.
Awarded to faculty who complete all modules in a specialized Domain of ACUE’s Effective Practice Framework. The Framework’s five domains are:
- Designing an Effective Course and Class
- Establishing a Productive Learning Environment
- Using Active Learning Techniques
- Promoting Higher Order Thinking
- Assessing to Inform Instruction and Promote Learning
